The first 3 trucks have completed 146 km of the day's special and Russian Vladimir Chagin (Kamaz) still holds the best provisional time. Better still, the "Tsar" has again increased his lead and is now 1'49 ahead of his team-mate and countryman Firdaus Kabirov (Kamaz) as well as 4'41 in front of Czech driver Alиs Loprais (Tatra).

500 - One more for Chagin

The first three trucks have finished the day's special and unsurprisingly the leader of the general standings, Russian Vladimir Chagin (Kamaz), has picked up another stage victory, his 3rd of the rally and the 59th in his career on the event. The "Tsar" finished this 4th special, 2'18 ahead of his team-mate and countryman Firdaus Kabirov (Kamaz) and 5'59 in front of Czech driver Alиs Loprais (Tatra).The situation stays the same in the general standings, with Chagain out in front, 8'41 ahead of Kabirov and 12'36 in front of Loprais.

18:19 - car 303 - It's all over for Robby Gordon!

Following a broken wheel bearing after 514 km of the link stage leading to the 4th special, American Robby Gordon (Hummer) was not able to reach the day's timed section, since the race officials had already closed the start point by the time his assistance team reached him. As a result, the Californian has been forced to abandon the rally.

Now that the first 5 trucks premiers camions have passed through CP1 after 81 km of the day's special, Russian Vladimir Chagin (Kamaz) is still in the lead, 1'09 ahead of his faithful lieutenant Firdaus Kabirov (Kamaz), and 3'04 in front of Czech driver Alиs Loprais (Tatra).

Japanese driver Jun Mitsuhashi (Toyota) has just finished the day's special, in 24th position in the car category, but more importantly as the leading vehicle in the production category. This is a repeat performance for the title holder in this class, since Mitsuhashi has grabbed his 4th special victory in the category in as many stages.In the general standings, the Japanese rider is obviously way out in front, with a lead of 1 hour and 13 minutes on his nearest rival at the start this morning.

The first 10 trucks have just completed 28 km of the day's special and are lead by Russian Vladimir Chagin (Kamaz) who has obtained the best provisional time, 27" ahead of his countryman and team-mate Firdaus Kabirov (Kamaz) and 1'09 in front of Czech driver Alиs Loprais (Tatra).

16:30 - quad 250 - Marcos Patronelli joins the assistance team

After a nasty fall during the 3rd stage yesterday, the title holder in the quad category, Marcos Patronelli (Yamaha) has injured his knee. As a result, the Argentinean decided to withdraw from the rally at the bivouac in San Salvador de Jujuy, but is continuing the rally in the assistance team in order to follow the progress of his older brother, Alejandro (Yamaha), currently 2nd in the general standings.

The first 3 cars have just completed the day's special. In the end, Spaniard Carlos Sainz (VW) has obtained the best time, 50" ahead of his team-mate Qatari Nasser Al-Attiyah (VW) and 1'22 in front of Frenchman Stephane Peterhansel (BMW). This is the 3rd stage victory in 2011 for the title holder and his 20th on the Dakar, giving him a lead of 4'24 over Al-Attiyah in the general standings.

It looks like American Robby Gordon (Hummer) has blown his engine or has broken his suspension. In any case, he is still stuck at the 514 km point on the link stage before the day's special and is currently waiting for his assistance team.
