Sherco TVS riders drop places after difficult stage nine

Joan Pedrero and Alain Duclos lost ground and drop places in the overall Dakar Rally standings after a difficult Stage 9.

In a shortened marathon stage nine in a loop inside Belen, both Sherco TVS riders lost time and finished outside top 10.

French Duclos was classified 23rd in the day's ranking, dropping him to 12th overall while Spanish Pedrero was 27th, just ahead of teammate Florent Vaysaade.

Pedrero was still the highest placed Sherco rider in 11th place but moved out of the top 10 standings led by KTM's Toby Price.

After having a fairly good run, it was for the first time in the rally for Duclos, that he ended outside top 10.

While the two Sherco frontrunners had a difficult run, Frenchman Vaysaade continued his upward swing finishing 29th in the general rankings.
