Marc Coma finishes third in the first timed stage

The AMV rider Marc Coma, with his oficial KTM, has completed the first timed stage of the Dakar Rally Argentina-Chile in third position, closely followed by team mate Jordi Viladoms. The stage, fast, technical and very similar to the Rally Worldchampionship, required a great deal of concentration and flow, tasks that AMV team drivers were able to manage perfectly.

Because of heavy rains that lashed the area yesterday, the organization has been forced to cut by 50 km, the initial design of the stage because there were areas in which the frames completely covered.

Marc Coma, who crossed the CP1 and CP2 in the first place, has ridden a merry pace throughout the entire stage, despite the difficulty of it. His team mate Jordi Viladoms, faithful shadow of the current holder of the crown, has done a wonderful job filled with consistency and great driving. The current champion of the world's hardest race, Marc Coma, with a time of 1 hour 50 minutes and 54 seconds, has come third to the warm city of Cordoba.

For its part, the French rider David Casteu won with a time of 1 hour 50 minutes and 42 seconds, the first stage of 168 kilometers from the Argentina-Chile Dakar rally, which connects the Argentine cities of Colon and Cordoba. Its also fellow Frenchman, Cyryl Despres, with a 1h.50:45 seconds, placed second in which it was the first timed stage of the new edition of the legendary rally.

Tomorrow, the riders must complete a total of 626 km divided by two liaisons connecting a special stage of 294 km.

Marc Coma, AMV Pilot (3rd Place, Time: 1'50: 54) "I felt very comfortable with the bike. It was a very technical stage that required heavy doses of driving despite being fairly short. It is a kind of stage where you stay focused at all times because a small mistake can cost you dearly. He maintained a good pace from the start and, with Jordi Viladoms, we have successfully maintained. Jordi has been very consistent, has done an excellent job. We must continue so consistent because of tomorrow's satge will be a little more complicated than today. Anyway, we managed to put everything in his place."
