Stage 1. The pilot AMV Marc Coma finishes third
With a time of 1:59.17, the AMV, faithfully escorted by Joan Pedrero, 2:00.15, faces the second stage with a lot of determination.
AMV rider Marc Coma and his faithful squire Joan Pedrero have come to Cordoba in the third and fourth respectively, having played since the first stage of the Dakar 2011. Consistently and expeditiously, AMV pilots were able to maintain a high rate along the 192 timed kilometers, which they saw as the rider Ruben Faria, followed by Frenchman Cyril Despres, crossed the line in the first and second position.
The long liaison, 566 kilometers before the special, was the prelude to a technical phase in which the pilot AMV and his "waterboy" Joan Pedrero, always have been shot in the top positions. The difficult terrain, especially in the second part of the stage, increased gradually and AMV pilots at the controls of his KTM, have completed a very positive, the first assault to his new challenge.
MARC COMA Pilot AMV: "There has been nothing wrong. The previous liaison to the particular, the role was quite long but the truth is that I was really short! I really wanted to make the first stage. Joan has been my shadow at all times and especially in the second part of the stage, we have learned to be consistent without missing a beat at any time. Face tomorrow's stage, even more technical, very hard. Tomorrow is a stage of about 300 km timed to be quite demanding."
