Liaison 42 km - Special 27 km - Liaison 37 km - Total 106 km

One shouldn't take this last stage for a formality, a last stroll in the sun before heading back to the European winter. It'll certainly be full of surprises, like every year. The leaders shouldn't take any unnecessary risk and it could be a day for the underdogs. This year, the special is almost brand new and will take the competitors from the Lac Rose to the beach in Dakar. It'll be followed by a last few kilometres, for fun, before entering the city of Dakar.

To really discover Dakar, one has to wait for the moment in the day when the sun sets and the colors change. On the pavements of the city, Wolofs, Toucouleurs, Peuls, Lebanese and French meet each other. It isn't surprising to see a Maure go by a Japanese businessman or a sorcellor in his traditional clothes cross the road with no concern for the crazy traffic. And for the typical atmosphere, why not head to the island of Gor?e because Dakar, now looks a lot more like a European city in the middle of Africa.
