BIASION IS SECOND

The dakar arrived in Africa and Miki Biasion on his Iveco Trakker continues to play a big role on the race. Today, in the third stage from Nador to Er Rachidia, in Morocco, with a special stage of 314 km, the former two World Rally Champion finished second behind behind leader Vladimir Tchaguine (Kamaz) with a 7'06" gap.

Biasion is now 2nd also in the general ranking after overtaking Brazilian Andre De Azevedo: now he is 13'56" behind Tchaguine.

"It has been a very nice stage," said Basion. "I lifted a little bit the gas only in the final part, when we had to overtake too many cars and there was a lot of dust on the track. I did not want to take any risk".

Also the two other trucks of the Motorsport Italia Team did well, with Finnish Markku Alen clinching the 7th position, 26'48" behind Tchaguine, and Pep Vila 8th 28'21" behind.

"I have been driving very carefully so far," adds Vila. "And up to now everything works perfectly. While Miki and Markku are fighting for the podium, my duty so far is to help them and then make it to Dakar".
