Tomorrow is the great day of Dakar 2010
The crucial moment is comming, the starting of the 32th Dakar Rally. The competition will start on January 1st, until the 15th will begin from the podium set by the Obelisco, Avenida 9 de Julio in Buenos Aires for an initial transfer to Colon in the province capital of Argentina.
Yesterday afternoon, the press conference to present the Team Giofil Aprilia Racing took place, and journalists fired questions to Francisco Lopez, who is considered almost a hero in Chile, and not far behind in Argentina.
"Chaleco" said to be very motivated for this new adventure in Aprilia. "Let's start with the main objective to gain experience and develop the bike, we're not here to win but to make a first good impression. The Aprilia RXV 4.5 has great potential, it weighs much less than the big single cylinder and is helped by a great powerful engine. The technical steps are sure we can say they are ours. After the first few days we will look at the situation and see what strategies we will adopt."
But today was the turn of the technical scrutineering of the four Giofil Aprilia Team. Francisco Lopez, Gerad Farres, Paolo Ceci and Alex Zanotti spent the day at the Dakar Village in La Rural, the great center, which is the headquarters of the Dakar Rally in Buenos Aires. Much interest around the Team Aprilia from the crowds that had filled the headquarters, curious to watch the parade of nearly four hundred vehicles in the race.
Tomorrow morning there will be a briefing for all participants at 10h, and the official start of the Dakar 2010 will be at with the first stage, a connection of 317 km.
