Tomorrow we are starting the Paris-Dakar rally and I thought you may enjoy some of these pictures especially the one of our support truck. This is our third vehicle we have built for this race and the other two completed the race in 2000 to Cairo, so we have big hopes this year in running in the front.

DAY TWO: At the moment there is a little shakespearean moment; 'will it make it or will it not' as the LS Corvette engine we are using developed a strange sound appr.95 km out of Arras. We have a spare just no time to replace it yet.

But heads up luckily we have only 9000 kms. to go. (currently Narbonne)

DAY THREE: Our situation with the engine has slightly improved as we changed to heavier oil we were able to increase rpm to 3500 as a result yesterday we placed 54th. Today a transfer-case failure bumped us back a few spots.

This race carries on its unfortunate reputation of losing lives every year, as a KTM support truck ran over a French citizen yesterday. This is my fourth time and keep hoping that at the next race we will all come home safe.

Still hope.

Happy New Year,
Frank Papp
Owner and tech support #270
