Having Problems? Read This First

What's new?
A rudimentary Pick Query form is now working
New bug information: Error codes (1) and (3)

Help! I'm trying to register, but I can't pick my nationality - the dropdown is too big to fit on the screen.

Try typing the first letter of the country in the input box. On some browsers this will cycle you through all the countries beginning with that letter. When you get to the right one, hit the 'return' key.

If that doesn't work don't worry - just pick any country for now. You'll be able to correct it later.

I completed the registration screen without problems, but I haven't received the email confirmation.

Unfortunately this is probably because you got something wrong in your email address. There isn't much we can do about that. Try again (you'll probably have to pick a new UserID), and make sure you double-check the email address you supply.
If you are really, *really* sure you did everything right send email to me at p6admin@motorsport.com
But you'd better be right - I don't want to get email from you only to find that you got the address wrong when registering.
(Now perhaps you can see why running the competition by email would be fraught with problems)

The URL in the registration confirmation message didn't work.

This is probably because your mail program split the URL into two lines (it is a fairly long URL). Paste the two parts of the URL together into the location box of your browser.

Why does it say I'm not using the right form to submit my pick?
I'm using the new submission form (with the password field). What's wrong?

This can happen if too much time elapses while you are wondering what to pick - your Session ID times out. We're increasing the timeout time. If you quit out of your browser and start it up again you should get a new session ID. Then you can submit your pick again (with any luck it won't time out on you again).
This can also be caused if you have a stale cookie. In that case you'll either have to delete it or let us give you a new one.

I tried to make a pick, but it wouldn't let me pick two drivers from the same team. There's no rule against that, is there?

No, not in the "Pick 6" competition (although there is a rule to that effect in the PP competition, if you know what that is). We had a bug in our pick validation code. It's fixed now. Sorry about that.

I want to pick a driver who isn't shown on your list of choices.

Why would you want to do that? If the name isn't on the list, the driver isn't currently competing in the series in question. (Or you've tried to enter a competition that is still under construction - only the F1 competitions are fully active at present). These are picks for possible finishers, not political statements. If a driver gets added to a team roster we'll add the name to the list of possible choices. [We might add write-in choices later when we go to other series]

I haven't received an email confirmation of my pick.

No, you haven't. If you got to the "pick accepted" screen, we've registered your pick. You will be able to review your picks from another screen - a preliminary version of that is now working.

Why do I have to enter my User ID and password every time?

Eventually we'll be able to remember those for you (if you always use the same computer to make your picks, and if you allow cookies). But we're concentrating on getting the competition running first.
