ILMOR RACING ENGINES DONATE $1000.00 TO POLE WINNER'S CHARITY OF CHOICE THROUGH PRI ALL-STARS KARTING CLASSIC
"Racing for Kids and Crohns and Colitis Foundation of America"
Ilmor Racing Engines in conjunction with the Snap-on Stars of Karting Performance Racing Industry All-Stars Karting Classic are pleased to donate $500 to two selected charities of choice to the Karter and Masters division pole winners from the December 11th All-Stars Karting Classic.
Receiving a donation check from Joel Miller and Ilmor Racing Engines will be the Racing for Kids charity while the Crohns and Colitis Foundation of America will receive the same amount from Scott Speed.
Speed out qualified 22 other drivers including eventual race winner Jay Howard and Indy 500 champions Buddy Rice and Dan Wheldon. The Red Bull pilot in the NASCAR Sprint Car Series turned a solid 17.672 second lap in qualifying to claim the pole by .026. Lapped traffic came into play in the main event and Speed eventually crossed the line in P3 to stand on the podium in Orlando.
Miller had a little bit tougher challenge taking the pole position ahead of 29 fellow competitors. Progressing through the heat race, Miller then claimed the 40 lap main event to transfer to the tail of the Masters class. The talented Californian charged through the field passing karts at an alarming rate to finish 14th in his second 40 lap main event of the weekend.
