Turner Motorsport to Light Up the Streets for Charity on Thursday

Amesbury, MA (May 19, 2010) - Local Boston-area BMW racing squad Turner Motorsport will be firing up their BMW engines a little early this week. The team has been tabbed to participate in Thursday's "Liberty for Lime Rock" event to benefit Davids House. Davids House is a home-away-from-home facility for families with ill or injured children at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire.

Turner Motorsport, which is based in Amesbury, is preparing to make is 200th race start Memorial Day weekend at Connecticut's Lime Rock Park as part of the traditional holiday weekend race. Thursday's fundraising event will see the team bringing the same No. 97 BMW M3 machine that won the most recent round of GRAND-AM racing in Virginia with Michael Marsal and Joey Hand driving through the streets of Boston.

"This is a great way for us to bring some attention and raise some money for a very good cause," said team principal Will Turner, who will be making a return to racing action next weekend. "This is also a great way to promote the race at Lime Rock. It's our home track and it is always a big deal for us to race there, but this year it is even bigger with us hitting the 200th race. My hat's off to the guys at Guardian Angel Motorsport and to GRAND-AM for putting everything together, it should be a fun day in the city and it is a great way to kick things off for the races next weekend."

The Lime Rock Park race weekend will see Turner Motorsport in action in both the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge events on Saturday as well as the Rolex Sports Car Series race on Monday afternoon.
