Golf Tournament founded and directed by World of Outlaws driver Danny Lasoski raises over $160,000

LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo., (July 16, 2003) - The sixth annual Michael Ross Memorial golf tournament held July 1 at the Sedalia (Mo.) Country Club raised over $160,000 as part of the Michael Ross Memorial Foundation, with this year's proceeds going to the Bay Cliff Health Camp in Big Bay, Mich.- a summer retreat created specifically for children with special needs.

Danny Lasoski, a full-time World of Outlaws driver and the 2001 series champion, started the golf tournament in 1998 in an effort to help the son of Tony Ross - Lasoski's business manager - who was diagnosed with Tay Sachs, a disease of the body's central nervous system. Michael Ross passed away in 1990, but his spirit lives on thanks to the large following of those who support the Michael Ross Memorial Foundation, which has raised over $360,000 for various charitable organizations.

Some of the names who turned out for this year's tournament included 2002 NASCAR Winston Cup Series champion Tony Stewart, NHRA drivers Gary Scelzi, Jim Head, Ron Capps and Gary Ormsby Jr., NASCAR veteran and IROC test driver Dave Marcis, NFL players Tim Grunhard and Louie Aguiar, NFL Film's Billy Driber, Mopar's Kevin Miller and Speed Channel's Ralph Sheheen.

"We had an excellent turnout for this year's golf tournament," said Lasoski, "which means a lot to me personally because of who the tournament is named after, and also because of the groups the Michael Ross Memorial Foundation benefit. For everyone who attended and all of our sponsors - I can't thank them enough."

Sponsors for this year's event included J.D. Byrider, Mopar, Ditzfeld Transfer, Massey Motorsports, Diamond Pet Foods, B&C Iron, Arctic Cat, Weld Wheels and Tony Stewart Motorsports.

The seventh annual Michael Ross Memorial golf tournament will be determined once the 2004 World of Outlaws schedule is announced. In the meantime, tax-deductible donations to the fund can be made to the following:
