RICHMOND INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY HOSTING NASCAR FOUNDATION TRACK WALK SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 11

Richmond, VA (July 28, 2010)--Have you ever wanted to walk the historic pavement on which some of the most legendary NASCAR drivers have raced? Well, now is your chance, because Richmond International Raceway will be hosting The NASCAR Foundation Track Walk Presented by Kroger, in partnership with Richmond International Raceway CARES, benefiting Paralyzed Veterans of America on Saturday, September 11, prior to the "One Last Race to Make The Chase" NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at America's Premier Short Track.

By making a tax-deductible donation--which will benefit Paralyzed Veterans of America, Richmond International Raceway CARES and The NASCAR Foundation--ticket holders will have the opportunity to walk around the ¾-mile D-shaped oval, alongside hundreds of their fellow fans, prior to one of the most anticipated races of the season.

Donations* for participating in the track walk are $30 online, in advance (sign up at foundation.nascar.com) or $35 when signing up at Richmond International Raceway on race weekend, September 10-11. Registration will be located at Gate 70, on the outside of the track behind Turn 4. Children 12 and under may walk for free with a paid adult. All walkers, including children, must have a grandstand ticket to the Saturday, September 11 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race in order to participate. Participants will not be able to enter the track without presenting a race ticket.

The walk is scheduled to begin at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday, September 11. All participants must check in prior to 1:15 p.m. in order to participate in the walk.** Late arrivals will not be allowed to participate.

NASCAR returns to Richmond International Raceway September 10-11 for one of the most anticipated race weekends of the season, highlighted by the Saturday, September 11, "One Last Race to Make The Chase" NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race "under the lights." This race is the final event before the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup. Once the checkered flag drops, the field will be set for the 2010 championship. Tickets for Saturday, September 11, start at $40 and can be purchased on www.rir.com or by calling 866-455-RACE (7223).

The weekend begins on Friday, September 10, with a full day of on-track activity, highlighted by the Virginia 529 College Savings 250 NASCAR Nationwide Series race "under the lights." Friday's ticket includes Fas Mart Pole Qualifying and practice for the Sprint Cup Series, as well as WRIC-TV8 Pole Qualifying and practice for the Nationwide Series. Tickets start at $30 and can be purchased on www.rir.com or by calling 866-455-RACE (7223). Children 12 and under are admitted free with a ticketed adult in general admission sections on Friday only.
