CONCORD, N.C. (April 23, 2010) - The 30th annual AutoTrader.com Speedway Children's Charities Gala will change venue for the first time in three years, and be held in the newly opened NASCAR Hall of Fame in uptown Charlotte, Wednesday, May 26.

The Gala will honor 2009 Coca-Cola 600 winner, David Reutimann, and serve as the official kick-off to Coca-Cola 600 Race Week festivities at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

All proceeds from the evening will benefit the grant program of the Charlotte Motor Speedway Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities. The event represents one of the biggest fundraising nights of the year for the Charlotte area, and since its inception the Gala has raised millions of dollars to improve the quality of life for children in the region.

Gala festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception sponsored by ACN, Inc. The reception will include a silent auction, a photo booth by ShutterBooth and live music from the Rowan Big Band All-Stars, an 18-piece band featuring the style of Glenn Miller.

Following the formal portion of the program there will be a live auction with auctioneer John Ahrens, meteorologists for Channel 9 Eyewitness News Charlotte.

Items up for bid in the live auction include an autographed Kasey Kahne fire suit and a NCAA Championship basketball autographed by the 2009-2010 Duke University men's basketball team. The silent auction will feature nearly 75 items, including jewelry, vacation packages, dinner parties and autographed memorabilia.

SPEED's NASCAR personality, Wendy Venturini, will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the program. Marcus Smith, president and general manger of Charlotte Motor Speedway, retired Air Force General Tom Sadler, executive director of Speedway Children's Charities and a featured grant recipient are expected to be among keynote speakers.

AutoTrader.com is the proud title sponsor of this year's Gala, marking its third year of sponsorship, with contributions of more than $145,000 to the Charlotte Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities. All proceeds from the annual Gala are awarded to non-profit organizations that help children with medical, social, financial and educational needs.
