RFFAC raises more than $12,000 at Ford Centennial Celebration

(DEARBORN, Mich., June 22, 2003) - Race Fans for a Cure® raised $12,133.48 in four days at the Ford Centennial Celebration. All proceeds go directly to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. It is one of the largest amounts ever raised by the program at a single event.

Race Fans for a Cure® - a charitable initiative comprised of Ford Credit, the Komen Foundation, and Dale and Kelley Jarrett - has raised $46,594.17 so far this year, and more than $315,000 since 2000, for the Komen Foundation and the fight against breast cancer.

"Thank you to everyone who contributed to the program," said Phil Gordon, Ford Credit Motorsport Marketing Manager. "This tremendous response shows just how important this fight is to so many people."

Ford Credit, associate sponsor of the No. 88 NASCAR Winston Cup Taurus driven by Dale Jarrett, sponsors a Race Fans for a Cure® display at various race-related events during the season. The display is designed to increase awareness of breast cancer and the importance of early detection, offering information about the Komen Foundation and its mission to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease by advancing research, education, screening and treatment. Additionally, it is equipped to accept donations from fans. Next, Race Fans for a Cure® will visit The Milwaukee Mile on June 28-29.

More than 20 years later the Komen Foundation is a global leader in the fight against breast cancer through its support of breast cancer research grants, meritorious awards, and educational, scientific and community outreach programs around the world. Together with its Affiliate Network, corporate partners and generous donors, the Komen Foundation has raised nearly $600 million for the fight against breast cancer.
