RAHAL LETTERMAN RACING BLOOD DRIVE DRAWS LARGE NUMBER OF FIRST-TIME DONORS

HILLIARD, Ohio (June 17, 2008) -- Rahal Letterman Racing opened its doors last week for its first-ever public Red Cross Blood Drive, and the public as well as RLR team members stepped up to provide enough blood to save more than 100 individuals.

Even more encouraging to Red Cross organizers was the fact that nearly half of the donors over the two-day drive were first-time donors -- including RLR co-owner and three-time Indy Car champion Bobby Rahal.

"We are very cognizant of our role in the community and we make every effort to do whatever it takes to help those in need," Rahal said. "The Red Cross and the medical profession in general has a greater need for blood during the summer months and we were lucky enough to be able to help. I am especially proud of those members of our team that stepped up to help. Unfortunately our travels over the years meant that some of our team members were medically unable to donate, but we are pleased with the turnout."

The two-day blood drive resulted in donations that can be used to save 117 individuals both in Central Ohio and across the nation if circumstances warrant.

The Rahal Letterman Racing team will be back in action this weekend, traveling to Newton, Iowa for Sunday's Iowa Corn Indy 250 at Iowa Speedway. The race will take place at 1 p.m. Eastern Time and can be seen live on ABC.
