RACE: Houston hosts race event to benefit Spina Bifida

Tuesday, May 08, 2001 (Houston, Texas, USA): The Fiesta Carrera sports car races will be held June 16 and 17 at Texas World Speedway with ticket sales benefiting Spina Bifida Association of Texas Gulf Coast. The races will feature SCCA racing cars and each race car driver will sponsor a child afflicted with Spina Bifida.

General admission tickets are $15 for a weekend pass that includes parking, access to grandstands, paddock and Pit Side Suites. $11 of every ticket is donated to the charity and $15 of any unused tickets is donated to Spina Bifida.

Tickets may be purchased from any member of Spina Bifida Association, Houston Region SCCA, ProAm Auto Parts and on the web at www.hiperfuels.com. Corporate sponsorship and VIP passes are also available.

Camping facilities are available and breakfast and lunch will be available at the snack bar. Spina Bifida will also sell commemorative T-Shirts at the race.

Special Prerace Event: Tuesday, June 12th, Drivers will gather at the Texas Childrens Hospital in the Medical Center to meet with the SB Kids, their parents and the Spina Bifida Clinic doctors, nurses and therapists. Please call for more information.
