(DEARBORN, Mich. July 22, 2003) -- Race Fans for a Cure®, which in less than four years has distributed tens of thousands of breast self-exam cards while raising more than $325,000 for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, will visit the RCA Dome and Indianapolis Motor Speedway next week.
Race Fans for a Cure®, a charitable initiative started by Ford Credit in 2000 to benefit the Komen Foundation, will be at the Ford Racing Fan Appreciation Day at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 31st, and in Lot 2 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway from 7 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, August 1st, and Sunday, August 2nd.
The displays will offer information about the Komen Foundation and its mission to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease by advancing research, education, screening and treatment, and is equipped to accept donations from fans. All proceeds go directly to the Komen Foundation to support the fight against breast cancer through funding of innovative research and community-based outreach programs.
"The generosity of the fans is inspiring," said Phil Gordon, Ford Credit Motorsports Marketing Manager. "That they have contributed over $300,000, very often just a dollar at a time, in such a short time shows how important battling this life-threatening disease is to everyone."

More than 20 years later the Komen Foundation is a global leader in the fight against breast cancer through its support of innovative breast cancer research grants, meritorious awards and educational, scientific and community outreach programs around the world.
