Nofri Fornoro Benefit Slated for March 8 in Seekonk, Mass.
WALTHAM, Mass., Jan. 18 A pasta dinner and silent auction will be held on Friday night, March 8 at the Ramada Inn in Seekonk, Mass. to help defray the medical expenses being incurred by Nofri Fornoro Jr., the 14-year-old son of legendary midget driver Nick Fornoro Jr. Nofri Fornoro has been battling Hodgkin's disease since last spring.
The benefit will begin at 7 p.m. The hotel is located at 940 Fall River Ave. in Seekonk.
Monetary donations to "The Fornoro Fund" may be mailed to: "The Fornoro Fund," c/o Mark Buonomo, 15 Kingston Terrace, Waltham, Mass. 02451. Even if people cannot attend the benefit, donations are still encouraged.
Buonomo, who is also a top midget driver, is also handling reservations for the benefit at $25 each and accepting racing memorabilia and other items for the silent auction at that address.

Nofri Fornoro is also the grandson of famous flagger Nick Fornoro Sr. (a former ARDC midget champion himself) and the nephew of former NEMA champion Drew Fornoro. The youngster been undergoing treatments at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, N.J., about an hour's drive from the family's home in Reeders, Pa. He is hospitalized approximately 22 days each month.
