KNOXVILLE, IOWA (January 2, 2004) - The National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum will again be a part of the Chili Bowl Midget Nationals in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with a benefit auction on Friday, January 9, at 1 p.m. This will be the sixth year that the organizers of the prestigious winter midget car event, Emmett & Fuzzy Hahn and Lanny & Beverly Edwards, have invited the non-profit museum foundation to be a part of their festivities.
According to museum marketing director Craig Agan, "We are thrilled to partner with the Chili Bowl again in 2004 for this auction. We plan to donate 10% of our auction proceeds to the official Chili Bowl charity, the Parent Child Center of Tulsa. All other income will go to our mission of 'promoting the future of sprint car racing by preserving it's past history.' We will also be in attendance and help in any way possible with their Annual Chili Bowl Auction on Saturday afternoon, January 10, where all income goes to benefit the Parent Child Center of Tulsa. We encourage everyone to attend both auctions."
The Friday museum auction will feature special one-of-a-kind racing memorabilia, with emphasis on die-cast collectibles. Many of the items, including artwork, photos and apparel, will be signed by some of the biggest names in racing.
Tentative plans are to hold both auctions in the main grandstand, just off turn three and four, but be sure to confirm this at the National Sprint Car Museum booth in the Chili Bowl Trade Show. The Friday auction will accept cash, check, and Visa & MasterCard credit cards.
Anyone with questions regarding the museum-benefit auction are urged to either see marketing director Craig Agan at the Chili Bowl or call administrative assistant Denise Deaver at the museum at 1-800-874-4488.
