Proceeds will benefit local boys and girls club
NASCAR driver Justin Lofton will host the Justin Lofton inaugural charity Golf tournament on January 22, 2011 at the Del Rio country club in Brawley, California. All proceeds from the event will benefit the boys And girls club of the imperial valley.
"I have been kicking around the idea of hosting a charity golf tournament for some time and it feels good to be able to nail down a time and place," Lofton said. "It means a lot to me to host this event in my hometown and to be able to donate the proceeds to kids in that area. I can't wait until January 22nd."
Lofton, who is the 2009 ARCA racing series champion, recently completed his first full season of NASCAR camping world truck series competition. Through the 25 race schedule, Lofton tallied four top-five and eight top-10 finishes, with a best finish of third. He ended the season 12th in the driver point standings.
Though a racer at heart, Lofton is also an avid golfer, and wanted to take advantage of the off season while also giving back to those in and around his hometown. In addition to Lofton, many of his NASCAR competitors will also be on hand.
The tournament is open to the public with participating golfers donating $150.00 to play. There is a 108 golfer limit for the tournament, so space is limited. For those interested in attending the event but not participating in the golf portion, additional ticket options are available.
Entrance for the tournament is tax deductible, as proceeds will benefit a 501 corporation.
Following the tournament, the event will move to the Stockmen's club where an awards ceremony, check presentation, dinner, and auction will take place. The auction includes numerous autographed items spanning the sports spectrum. Following the dinner and auction, country singer Tim Dugger will provide live entertainment at Stockmen's.
