MIAMI, (Oct. 17, 2008) -- NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Juan Pablo Montoya and his wife Connie, founders of the Formula Smiles Foundation, will team up with five other Colombian non-profit organizations to host the BeLive 2008 charity gala for the second-consecutive year. The event will take place Nov. 11 at Jungle Island in Miami, and will be headlined by performer Carlos Vives and designer Esteban Cortazar.

The Montoya Family began the Formula Smiles Foundation (www.formulasmiles.org) to improve the quality of life for Colombia's most needy children by implementing programs that instill values through sports and recreation. Earlier this year, the Montoyas hosted NASCAR Chairman and CEO Brian France, fellow NASCAR driver Kyle Petty, the NASCAR Foundation and a contingent of NASCAR executives in Colombia. The group toured Cartagena and had the opportunity to visit one of the recreational sites built by Formula Smiles. At the site, the NASCAR Foundation presented the Montoyas with a $25,000 donation.

BeLive 2007 was a successful event thanks to the support and collaboration from its sponsors and donors. More than 600 guests and industry leaders in business, sports, education, public policy, media, philanthropy and the arts will be attending the charity event this year. The evening will consist of dinner, a silent auction, a fashion show and a music concert.

The fashion show will highlight Cortazar, chief designer for the Emanuel Ungaro fashion house. At only 24 years of age, Cortazar has gained recognition from clients Eva Longoria, Paris Hilton, Beyonce Knowles, Kelly Preston, Kim Catrall and stylist Patricia Field who outfitted the women in the series Sex and the City. The evening will be capped off with a concert from Grammy Award and Latin Grammy Award winner Carlos Vives.

The six organizations based out of the United States are joining efforts once again to raise international awareness about Colombia's social needs and contribute to the prosperity and development of vulnerable communities in their native country. The five other foundations are Give to Colombia, Colombianitos, United for Colombia, Genesis and Key for Colombia.

The Montoyas have received unbelievable support from the NASCAR community on behalf of their charitable efforts. From sponsors such as Wrigley's™ Juicy Fruit®, Texaco/Havoline, POWERade, Dodge, SiriusXM Radio, Sprint and Bank of America to NASCAR drivers such as Petty, Jimmie Johnson, Casey Mears, A.J. Allmendinger, David Stremme and Reed Sorenson, the Montoyas have created an exciting new support network for Colombian children in need.
