Fairfield, NJ (September 27, 2001) - AmeriSuites, the "Preferred Hotel of the Trans-Am Series" and Title Sponsor of the "AmeriSuites Rookie-of-the-Year" Award announced today that the growing hotel chain will donate $100.00 for every lap completed by the #12 Team AmeriSuites Jaguar during the final race of the 2001 Trans-Am season to `The September 11th Fund'. "We wish to convey our deepest sympathies and lend our support to the victims, families and communities affected by this tragic attack on our country," states Jim Gard, Vice President of Marketing Services, Prime Hospitality Corp. "We welcome other sponsors in the Trans-Am Series to join us in this effort."

The September 11th Fund was established by the United Way and The New York Community Trust to help respond to the immediate and long-term needs of the victims, their families and communities affected by the worst strike of terrorism in history. 100% of all donations to The September 11th Fund will be used to support these efforts.

The Texaco/Havoline Grand Prix of Houston will feature the final race of the 2001 Trans-Am Series for the BFGoodrich Tires Cup on Saturday, October 6th. The 60 lap race with 26 cars currently entered could provide a significant contribution to The September 11th Fund.

In 1998, Houston became the first event for AmeriSuites on the familiar Red, White & Blue entry, a relationship that has grown with 2001 being the third full year as the Primary Sponsor of American Spirit Racing and driver Michael Lewis. "At the Houston event, the #12 Team AmeriSuites Jaguar XKR will feature 13 stars on the blue section of the car, representing the original foundation of our great country," comments Jon Lewis, CEO of American Spirit Racing, Inc. "America was founded on the basic principals of freedom and we honor the victims and their families of the terrible tragedy of September 11th and show our support to the men and women who fight to keep this nation free." Driver Michael Lewis states, "We are very proud to be able to show our support through the sport we love and AmeriSuites' pledge to The September 11th Fund, just goes to show what a quality sponsor we have. I guess I better complete every lap in Houston!"

AmeriSuites Hotels were recently ranked #1 in mid-priced hotels without food & beverage in a Top US Hotel Chain Survey conducted by Business Travel News and the largest lodging chain to earn AAA's Three Diamond ranking systemwide. AmeriSuites can be accessed at: www.amerisuites.com.
