Komen Foundation benefits from Dale Jarrett's recent success.
DEARBORN, Mich., June 18, 2002 - A victory at Pocono. A second-place finish from the pole at Michigan. Another donation from Ford Credit to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Dale Jarrett's success on the track in the last two races results in a donation of $22,500 from Ford Credit to the Komen Foundation to help in its mission to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease.
"Ford Credit is proud to help the Komen Foundation," said Phil Gordon, Ford Credit Motorsport Marketing Manager. "In less than five seasons, we've contributed more than $600,000 to the cause -- all because of the efforts of Dale Jarrett and the entire 88 team."
Ford Credit, associate sponsor of the No. 88 NASCAR Winston Cup Taurus driven by Jarrett, gives the Komen Foundation $10,000 for each of Jarrett's victories, $7,500 for each second-place finish, $5,000 for each third-place finish and $5,000 for each pole position won (as fastest qualifier).
Ford Credit has now donated $607,500 to the Komen Foundation based on Jarrett's on-track performance and end-of-season bonuses since 1998.
