CHARLOTTE, NC -NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series driver Jeff Gordon has paired with Ranger Boats, NASCAR and Richard Petty to host a raffle with proceeds benefiting The Jeff Gordon Foundation and Victory Junction Gang Camp.
The winner of the raffle will receive a Limited Series 519 DVX NASCAR Ranger Boat and a NASCAR Package, including two tickets to the NASCAR Busch Series race on October 15th, two tickets to the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race on October 16th, a VIP tour and "meet and greets" with Jeff Gordon and Richard Petty.
"Victory Junction is proud to have teamed-up with The Jeff Gordon Foundation to raffle off this great Ranger Boat" said Richard Petty. "It is great to have the support of Jeff's Foundation helping us get the camp off the ground as well."
Raffle tickets are $100 each with a limited number of 2,000 available. Tickets purchased directly benefit The Jeff Gordon Foundation and Victory Junction Gang Camp.
"This is another great way to raise funds for the foundation and Victory Junction," said Jeff Gordon. "Many children throughout the United States suffering from life threatening illnesses and in need will benefit through this raffle."
The Jeff Gordon Foundation, a non-profit organization established in December 1999 that benefits The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, The Make-A-Wish Foundation, The Marrow Foundation and Riley Hospital for Children. Gordon, recently named the 2004 First Quarter NASCAR USG Person of the Year, founded the foundation with the intentions of helping support the physical, social and intellectual needs of children and their families throughout the United States.
Founded by NASCAR driver Kyle Petty and his wife Pattie in honor of their late son Adam, Victory Junction will be a year-round, multi-disease camp serving children from the Carolinas and Virginia. The camp will provide sessions to children ages seven to fifteen with life-threatening illnesses. The Victory Junction Gang Camp will have a racing theme that allows campers to begin their experience by entering the camp through a tunnel and crossing a starting line into the world of racing. When complete, Victory Junction's 75-acre site will have more than 36 buildings, including a dining hall, gym, pool, theater, therapeutic equestrian center, arts and crafts center, race shop, and 16 camper cabins. The Victory Junction Gang Camp, a Proud Charity of NASCAR, is scheduled to open June of 2004 and will be free to children and their families. For more information, visit www.victoryjunction.org.
