VISION RACING, MENARDS AND JOHNS MANVILLE TO TAKE PART IN HABITAT FOR HUMANITY BUILD

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (May 20, 2008) -- Match a race team's speed and precision with a well-known home improvement retailer and a leading building materials manufacturer and what's left is a profound home building team. Such is the case with Vision Racing and team sponsors, Menards and Johns Manville (JM) as they prepare to take part in a Greater Indianapolis Habitat for Humanity home build, which is sponsored by fellow Vision Racing partner, Eli Lilly and Co.

Vision Racing team owner Tony George will join John Menard, President of Menards, Inc. and Chris Gerd, National Account Manager for Johns Manville on site to participate in the construction of the Habitat for Humanity homes, which will feature the application and use of Menards products and Johns Manville materials.

Menards sponsored drivers from three series will participate in the build as well. IndyCar Series driver Ed Carpenter, who has qualified his No. 20 Menards/Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone machine in the 10th position for the 92nd running of the Indianapolis 500, will be join Dale Earnhardt Inc.'s Paul Menard who drives the No. 15 Menards/Chevrolet in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and Logan Gomez, driver of the No. 23 Menards Firestone Indy Lights machine for Guthrie Racing.

Also in attendance will be Habitat for Humanity of Greater Indianapolis Executive Director, Dean Illingworth.

The event will be held on what is appropriately named "Community Day" back at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Only this group will be leaving IMS behind to bring that sense of "community," to the community. Activity on the Habitat for Humanity sites will begin at 1 p.m. (ET), Wednesday, May 21st, at 1146 Harlan St. and 1150 Harlan St., Indianapolis Ind. 46203.

"Having participated in Habitat builds before I know the life changing impact it can have in people's lives. Vision Racing is proud to support the efforts of our team's partners; Lilly, in their sponsorship and Menards/Johns Manville in their support of this project and a great organization like Habitat for Humanity."

Menards was present when the IndyCar Series began in 1996 and Menards sponsored cars boast nine wins, two championships and numerous poles. The Menards sponsorship returns to the Series for the first time since 2005

"As partners of Tony George's Vision Racing team, Menards stores and Johns Manville also feel the need to reach out to the communities we serve," Menard said. "Working with the Eli Lilly sponsored Habitat for Humanity of Greater Indianapolis houses gives us the opportunity to use our talents and products from the home improvement business to change the lives of our neighbors".

The return of the recognizable Menards sponsorship in the IndyCar Series has also reunited the home improvement retailer with Carpenter. The 27-year-old driver also carried the Menards livery in 2002, with Sinden Racing in the Indy Pro Series. As someone who can typically be found working on and around the house when he's not behind the wheel of the Menards car, Carpenter is looking forward to getting his hands dirty.

"It's been great to be back driving a Menards car again," said Carpenter who has had two top-10 and a top-five finish so far this season. "Not just because I've had a good season so far and they have helped us improve our performance, but because being with Menards and Johns Manville allows us to participate in unique opportunities like this. Menards is a great sponsor that really cares about what we do both on and off the track. Plus, I've always been a big fan of home improvement projects, so doing something like this is right up my alley. I'm honored to be taking part in the build."

Along with Johns Manville, the Menards sponsorship also brings the likes of Energizer, Moen, Peak Antifreeze, Pittsburgh Paints, Sylvania, SuperClean and Quaker State to Vision Racing.
