INDIANAPOLIS, Thursday, Dec. 14, 2006 -- The Indianapolis Motor Speedway has donated VIP race packages for its three 2007 events for auctions that benefit the horse rescue efforts of the Humane Society of the United States.

Proceeds from the auctions will help feed starving horses at sanctuaries that have been impacted by severe drought and wildfires and other factors that have caused a shortage of hay and alfalfa in the Midwest and West. The sanctuaries need several thousand dollars to feed the horses throughout the winter months.

The auctions, now in progress, will run through Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006. Interested parties may bid by visiting www.ebay.com and entering the item number for their desired trip. The Indianapolis 500 trip item number is 200058950194. The United States Grand Prix trip item number is 200058932428, and the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard trip item number is 200058892490.

The package for the 2007 Indianapolis 500 includes four luxury suite tickets for Miller Lite Carb Day on Friday, May 25 and the Indy 500 on Sunday, May 27. Credentials and pit passes (must be 18 years of age) will be provided for May 25-27, giving access to the grounds for all three days, including race morning. Two hotel rooms are provided for the nights of May 24-27.

The winner of this package also will receive a ride around the 2.5-mile oval in an Official Pace Vehicle on Saturday, May 26 (weather permitting). An invitation to a private party at the Brickyard Crossing Inn hosted by Mari Hulman George, chairman of the board of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, also is included.

The United States Grand Prix package includes four luxury suite tickets, two hotel rooms for June 15-17 and a police-escorted caravan to the track on race morning Sunday, June 17.

Four luxury suite tickets are included in the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard package, along with two hotel rooms for July 27-29, a private party at the Brickyard Crossing hosted by Mari Hulman George, a police-escorted caravan on race morning, Sunday, July 29 and credentials to the pits and garage area (must be 18 years of age) for all three days and race morning.
