Graham Rahal Auctions Helmet To Benefit Paul Newman's Hole In The Wall Camps

Graham Rahal, driver of the Hole in the Wall Camps car for Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing in the IndyCar Series, and helmet designer/painter Troy Lee created a helmet earlier this summer that features many posters from a selection of the movies that race team co-owner Paul Newman starred in.

Rahal, who resides in New Albany, Ohio, wore the helmet during his "home race," the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, on July 20, 2008. The helmet, autographed by both Rahal and Newman, is being auctioned on Ebay through next Monday afternoon, October 13, with the proceeds being given to Flying Horse Farms, a provisional member of The Association of Hole in the Wall Camps that is located 30 minutes from the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

Newman founded the Association of Hole in the Wall Camps for seriously ill children and Graham's mother Debi has been active in fund raising efforts for the provisional member camp. The movies depicted include: "Winning," "Cool Hand Luke," "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid," "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof," "The Sting," "The Hustler," "The Long Hot Summer," and Graham's personal favorite "Slap Shot."
