Dale Earnhardt Foundation Provides Disaster Relief To Daytona Beach Area in Partnership With Feed The Children

Oklahoma City, OK (August 18, 2004) - The Dale Earnhardt Foundation is sponsoring delivery of a Feed The Children tractor-trailer load of disaster relief supplies to the Children's Home Society, 2400 S. Ridgeway Ave., South Daytona Beach, for distribution to those in need in the aftermath of Hurricane Charley. The delivery is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August19, and will include food, personal care items, and shelf -stable liquid milk.

"My thoughts and prayers are with the thousands of people whose lives have been turned upside down by this catastrophic storm," said Teresa Earnhardt, CEO and president of Dale Earnhardt, Inc. and founder of The Dale Earnhardt Foundation. "All of us at DEI and the foundation hope this shipment of relief supplies will help in some small way."

During the 2004 racing season, The Dale Earnhardt Foundation is sponsoring Feed The Children food distributions at feeding agencies in or near communities where Dale Earnhardt raced during his illustrious career. The Foundation has already sponsored the distribution of more than 192,000 pounds of food and personal care items thus far in the racing season.

Founded in 1979 by Larry and Frances Jones, Feed The Children is a Christian, international, non-profit relief organization with headquarters in Oklahoma City, Okla. The mission of Feed The Children is to deliver food, medicine, clothing and other necessities to families who lack these essentials due to famine, war, poverty or natural disaster. In FY 2003 Feed The Children shipped 61 million pounds of food and 22 million pounds of other essentials to children and their families in all 50 states and in 62 foreign countries. Founded in 2002 by Teresa Earnhardt, The Dale Earnhardt Foundation was established to carry on Dale's name and good works through charitable causes he supported during his lifetime. In addition to their partnership with Feed The Children, the Foundation sponsors The Dale Earnhardt forestry program, in partnership with American Forests, which was announced April of this year and also continues the support of wildlife preservation.
