Fans can trade toys for NHRA Division 7 tickets at Christmas Toy Drive.

SONOMA, Calif. - There is nothing brighter than the smile on a young child's face at the sight of a new toy at Christmas. Infineon Raceway hopes to increase the holiday cheer this season by hosting its first Christmas Toy Drive, and at the same time, reward people with free race tickets.

The public is encouraged to drop off an unwrapped new toy at Infineon Raceway through Wednesday, Dec. 18. All toys will be delivered to FISH (Friends In Sonoma Helping), which will distribute them to needy children in the Sonoma Valley just in time for Christmas. People may bring toys to the raceway during regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.). Items can be dropped in bins located in the main office.

All those who donate toys will be rewarded with a ticket to the Bank of the West NHRA Division 7 Drag Racing Summernationals, July 4-6. The ticket will be good for Saturday, July 5. Just ask for your free voucher in the main office after making your donation. There is a limit of two vouchers per family.

The NHRA Division 7 event features lightning-quick 3,000-horsepowered dragsters rumbling down Infineon Raceway's quarter-mile drag strip. The premier divisions include Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car, with top speeds approaching 275 mph. Ashley Force, the daughter of 12-time NHRA POWERade Funny Car champion John Force, is expected to compete. The elder Force may also be on hand.

Donations can also be sent by mail to: John Cardinale, Infineon Raceway, Highways 37 and 121, Sonoma, CA 95476. Be sure to include a return address, as we will mail you a voucher.
