Indianapolis, Indiana - CARA Charities announced today that Runway Madness - the charitable organization's season-ending fund-raising celebration and entertainment extravaganza - will feature an all-new venue for the fourth-edition of the CART community "super party" that will be held Friday, Nov. 2, during the Marlboro 500 Presented by Toyota FedEx Championship Series finale weekend at California Speedway.
Introduced in 1998, Runway Madness features fine food and refreshments and a full line-up of planned and impromptu entertainment featuring FedEx Championship Series drivers, other members of the CART community and celebrities from Hollywood and the music industries. Runway Madness also includes silent and live auctions showcasing priceless motorsports-related experiences and memorabilia and a variety travel packages and luxury items.
Among the changes in store for Runway Madness IV is the all-new venue - the Ontario Convention Center (OCC) - located just one mile from the former Ontario Airport hangar that hosted the first three editions of the CARA Charities event. Less than four years old, the OCC offers a state-of-the-art venue complete with professional audio support and first-class hospitality service.
In other Runway Madness IV news, CARA Director Deanna Griffith and member Carol Pressman have been named co-chairpersons of the event. In their joint roles, Griffith and Pressman will be responsible for every aspect of the Runway Madness IV, from sponsorship and ticket sales to on-site production and hospitality. They will be supported by a large staff of committee chairs and event volunteers that bring extensive experience from within the CARA Charities and CART communities and beyond.

Griffith, the Director of Marketing for Zakspeed/Forsythe Racing, has been a CARA member since 1999 and has been involved in the last two Runway Madness events as a chair or co-chair in the areas of auction, production and event program production. A lifelong resident of Ohio, Griffith lives in the Columbus area.
Pressman has also been with CARA since 1999 and has been involved in previous Runway Madness and Taste of CART CARA Charities events. She has extensive experience in the organization and operation of community charitable events and also serves as the Chairperson for the Des Moines Symphony Alliance New Year's Eve Gala. She and her husband Thane A. Pressman, the President and CEO of Runway Madness sponsor Tone's Spices, live in West Des Moines, Iowa.
Celebrating its 20th Anniversary this year, CARA Charities was founded in 1981 to serve the community through charitable work and promote the friendship of all those involved in the motorsports family. Over $3.25 million dollars have been distributed to numerous racing and community organizations, including the nationally recognized and award-winning "Buckle Up Baby" program that is a partnership between CARA Charities and the Bridgestone/Firestone Trust. Other recipient charities include CART Ministries, San Bernardino Children's Fund, CARA Benevolent Fund, Inc., Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, Foote Memorial Hospital, International Vehicular Injury Research Center, California Highway Patrol "Kids" Program, Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital, Championship Drivers Association Benevolent Fund, Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer and Valley View Medical Center.
