THE JMB STRADALE OFF ROAD TEAM ENTERS THE PORTUGUESES BAJA TERRAS D'EL REI
The JMB STRADALE Off Road team will participate in the 2010 Portuguese Cross Country Rally Championship with Miguel Barbosa and Miguel Ramalho. The tandem have entered the Baja which will be held in the Algarve region on March 20th and 21st, with the new 2.0 L Turbo Lancer.
After having finished 12th place on the 2010 Dakar, Miguel Barbosa and Miguel Ramalho, decided to continue the adventure with the JMB Stradale Off Road Team by entering the 2010 Portuguese Cross Country Rally Championships.
"With my co-driver, Miguel Ramalho, we were very satisfied with the JMB Stradale Off Road team for the 2010 Dakar, therefore after discussion, we decided to continue to continue racing during the 2010 season. We participated in the development of the new petrol 2.0L Turbo Lancer and we will be able to baptize this new car during the Baja d'El Rei. The bodyshell is the same however the engine has been modified" comments Miguel Barbosa. "We both found it very interesting and satisfying to work on this project cooperating with the team's technical staff."
The President of Stradale Off Road, Nicolas Misslin, and his Sporting Director, Dominique Serieys, are very proud of this partnership which helps the new company participate in the various cross country programs. When buying the MMSP company from the Japanese manufacturer, Mitsubishi Motors, the challenge was not an easy one despite the knowhow and experience of the team. The two gentlemen, along with the staff members, have been fighting to keep the company competitive in the passionate discipline of cross country rallying.
" We developed this new car for our clients with a double objective" said Dominique Serieys. "The first was to reduce costs and the second is to remain competitive. The Baja d'El Rei will be the first event in which the car will participate after having been tested for over 300 km in Le Creusot, France. Miguel Barbosa is satisfied with the performance, but as always, the racing conditions will validate the reliability and the performance of the car."
" I'm extremely happy that the two Miguels are participating with the JMB Stradale Off Road team in the baja" enthused Nicolas Misslin. "We have great pleasure working with them and I'll certainly also come and join them with the second 2.0 L Turbo Lancer on one or two of the future Portuguese Bajas."
On March 20th, the Baja d'El Rei will start with a short 10 km special stage and finish on the 21st with a unique special stage of 320 km in Tariva.
