Mark McNally has qualified 15th for Round 2 of the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series at Wakefield Park today, just six tenths off pole position.

After the two practice sessions today, where he was 12th fastest in the second, Mark was confident of pushing into the top ten for qualifying.

"I just didn't get a clear run at the right time in qualifying which left me outside the top ten," he said.

"In the first session we had the set-up too stiff and the car felt like it was on ice,"

"But once we made some changes for the second session I knew we were headed in the right direction."

"At Wakefield it is a huge advantage to be up the front at the start of the races as it is a difficult track to pass on and there is often a bit of push-and-shove."

However, Mark is still confident of a good result in tomorrow's three races.

"At Adelaide I came from the back to 11th so there is no reason why I can't push further up the grid tomorrow.

"It is just a matter of keeping out of trouble and putting in consistent laps all day," he said.

Tomorrow's schedule is likely to keep both the drivers and crew busy as it includes three races, the second being a reverse-top-10.
