ANOTHER PODIUM FOR D'ALBERTO
Tony D'Alberto has finished on the podium for the fourth consecutive time at Round 4 of the 2007 Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series at Queensland Raceway this weekend.
After finishing third in the final race, D'Alberto retains a 47 point lead over second placed Michael Caruso in the Series.
Not only is Tony the only driver to be on the podium at every round to date, he has also finished outside the top three in any individual race just once, 5th in Sunday's reverse-top-ten race.
D'Alberto qualified second for the round and proceeded to finish third, fifth and third respectively, backing up his impressive form from previous rounds.
"We came here to consolidate our series position and that is exactly what we have done," Tony said.
"We worked on the set-up over the weekend and ended up with a pretty good package in the final race.
"There was just no point taking a huge risk to gain an extra position so I was happy with third.
"I want to win races but I also need to make sure I am finishing in strong positions all the time if I am to win the Series," he said.
Tony started the final race in fifth place and patience paid off when Shannon O'Brien and Luke Youlden clashed late in the race. Tony was able to move to third when O'Brien received a drive-through penalty.
"It was another good weekend for the team," Tony said.
"We have worked hard to be in a position where we are competitive in most races and that is where we want to be for the rest of the year."
Tony's next round will be at Sydney's Oran Park Raceway on 17-19 August.
