TESTING PUTS MCNALLY IN GOOD STEAD FOR QLD

After a solid test session at Winton Raceway last week Mark McNally is looking forward to hitting the track at Queensland Raceway this weekend.

McNally and chief engineer Sean Scott, went to Winton with a list of points to work through in order to find some more speed out of the already fast package.

"A number of the changes we made translated into some big gains in lap times," Mark said.

"We came here with a specific plan to try out a few different set-ups and technical changes to see if we could improve my speed.

After qualifying less than 3/100 of a second from pole position at Winton last round it might seem surprising that the team is looking for more speed, but Mark is determined to keep progressing forward this year.

"If you rest in this sport you will fall off the pace easily," he said.

"We need to keep pushing forward in order to get up to the front of the pack.

The team heads to Queensland Raceway this weekend for Round 4 of the Fujitsu V8 Series, the venue of Mark's first V8 race last year.

"Having been to Queensland Raceway before is a great benefit to me," Mark said.

"After showing good speed at Winton I am really looking forward to getting back to Queensland Raceway as I had a good run there last year, and now I have a whole lot more experience in V8s."

Practice, qualifying and three races will be held from Friday to Sunday at the Ipswich circuit.
