MARK MCNALLY QUEENSLAND RACEWAY: FRIDAY PRACTICE

Mark McNally hit the track at Queensland Raceway today for the first two practice sessions of Round 4 of the 2007 Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series.

The first practice session proved to be challenging for Mark as he struggled to get the car balance to his liking around the bumpy circuit, posting 26rd fastest time.

"It was not a good session for me," he said.

"I just could not get the car settled during the session and it showed in the lap times."

The second session proved to be more productive after the team analyzed the data and worked on set-up changes in between sessions.

Mark was more comfortable with the car in that session and is expecting more speed once the new tyres are used in tomorrow's qualifying session.

We made a lot of progress in that session," Mark said.

"Although many teams used new rubber to post better times, we decided to hold ours off for qualifying, and therefore ended up 23rd.

"There is still some work to go before I will be happy with the speed and drivability of the car but we are heading in the right direction," he said.

Qualifying begins at 10am tomorrow and will be followed by Race 1 at 1.50pm.
