Uregent Release: Tree has stopped Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour Race

A fallen tree has stopped the Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour Race at Mount Panorama.

The large tree fell accross the track from the drivers' left hand side and is completely accross the track, stopping the field of cars on top of Mount Panorama.

At the time the cars were following the safety car due to damp and foggy conditions around the circuit.

No cars appear to have been at that point on the track when the tree fell.

Race officials are urgently assessing the situation and a heavy machine has been sent up conrod straight to attempt to remove the tree.

At the time of the incident around 12:45pm driver David Wall was leading the race for production cars in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo.

More information will be provided as it becomes available.
