RACERS FROM ALL WALKS OF LIFE COME TOGETHER FOR WPS BATHURST 12 HOUR

Motor racing drivers from all walks of life will converge on Australia's most famous circuit, Mount Panorama, from across the country for the WPS Bathurst 12 Hour Showroom Enduro this weekend.

Along with the 48 entries for the once around the clock encounter, which incorporates a number of the highest profile drivers of the sport, more than 260 racers will accompany them to the circuit across five support categories.

With the classes of Improved Production, Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge, Saloon Cars, Formula Vee and Holden HQs bringing 56, 47, 55, 55 and 50 entries respectively to Mount Panorama for round one of the Shannons Nationals, there is sure to be plenty of competitive spirit on track this weekend.

Director James O'Brien said he was pleased to be able to welcome so many of Australia's motorsport enthusiasts -- from legendary veterans to weekend warriors -- to the three day Event.

"With five race categories supporting the WPS Bathurst 12 Hour race for 2009 the fans at this weekend's Event are sure to see something they can really enjoy," said O'Brien.

"No matter what your interest, background or where you hail from, you are sure to find a category and a competitor that you can follow this weekend.

"This Event has been designed to allow competitors of all disciplines and levels the opportunity to race at one of the world's greatest motorsport venues and it is great to see that vision coming to life."

As has been the case in previous years of the WPS Bathurst 12 Hour Showroom Enduro, live timing will be available across the weekend by logging on to www.bathurst12hour.com.au and clicking on the live timing tab.

The 2008 WPS 12 Hour Showroom Enduro was won by the Mitsubishi Evo 9 of Damien White, Graham Alexander and Rod Salmon.
