TICKETS NOW ON SALE FOR WPS BATHURST 12 HOUR AS ENTRIES BEGIN TO ROLL IN
As the entries begin to roll in for the 2009 WPS Bathurst 12-Hour Showroom Enduro, tickets for the February 20-22 Event are now on sale.
With a three-day pass available for less than $50, the 2009 Event offers superb value for money for the Australian motorsport fan.
Interest in the once around the clock journey at Mount Panorama has been high with Event organisers fielding over 40 expressions of interest over the past few weeks.
These expressions of interest have come from various motorsport teams across the country along with a number of serious enquiries from several overseas competitors.
"Current indications highlight the fact that the Event is on track to continue the growth that it has experienced over the past two years with a number of entries already received and a large amount of interest being fielded from prospective competitors," said Event Director James O'Brien.
"It has also been encouraging to know that we have had a number of serious enquires from overseas competitors."
With the high level of interest from support category entrants, Event organisers are confident of continuing their theme of ensuring the Event is not just about the competitors in the WPS 12-Hour Showrrom Enduro but also for the support categories.
Currently all five support categories - the Porsche GT3 Challenge, HQ Holdens, Formula Vee, Saloon Cars and Improved Production -- have all confirmed near capacity, or over capacity grids, for the opening round of the 2009 Shannons Nationals to be held at the February 20 -22 Event.
"Mount Panorama is the one circuit on the top of every Australian motor racing drivers list, this is highlighted by the huge amount of interest we have received from competitors wanting to race alongside the WPS 12-Hour," said Porsche GT3 Challenge Category Manager Jodi Zylstra.
"We have already got over 50 competitors wanting to race in the Porsche GT3 Challenge and I know the other categories in the Shannons Nationals that are competing at the Event are in the same boat."
The Seven Network has recently confirmed a three-hour highlights package from the 2009 WPS Bathurst 12-Hour Showroom Enduro will be telecast on Saturday March 14, 2009.
