After a toe in the water outing at Silverstone earlier in the year, fan-funded venture YourRacingCar.com can confirm that it will move into the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship on a full-time basis during 2011, with its racing programme for the new campaign to be officially launched on Finals Day at Brands Hatch this weekend.

YourRacingCar.com is collaborating with the AmD Milltek Racing team, which will see the Volkswagen Golf of Shaun Hollamby run under the AmD Milltek Racing.com with YourRacingCar banner for the new season; giving YRC members the opportunity to lend their support to one of the most popular privateer outfits on the BTCC grid.

The fan funded venture made its maiden appearance in the BTCC earlier this season at Silverstone in a one-off deal with the Special Tuning (UK) team, before work started to find a long-term partner to enable YourRacingCar to make a full-time move into touring cars.

That work has been ongoing behind the scenes in order to find a suitable partner and finalise a plan for 2011, with a number of options being considered for the new season.

However, having been approached by AmD Milltek Racing boss Shaun about a possible partnership, it soon became apparent that the two parties shared similar aims and goals for the 2011 season, with a deal being agreed for AmD Milltek Racing's second year in the BTCC.

"After our outing at Silverstone, one thing was crystal clear when we spoke to our members," YourRacingCar chief Hannah James said, "and that is that the BTCC is where they wanted to be. We've been hard at work since Silverstone to look at the options available to us for 2011 but when Shaun and AmD Milltek Racing made the approach, it was a no-brainer for us.

"YourRacingCar and AmD Milltek Racing share similar goals and aims, so it made perfect sense for us to build a partnership for 2011. We're all looking forward to cheering on Shaun on track next season and are confident that he will do the YRC members proud."

For 2011, the AmD Milltek Racing.com with YourRacingCar Volkswagen Golf will undergo a series of radical changes under the skin with the team making the switch to an NGTC-specification two-litre turbo charged engine for the new season.

The move will allow the team to continue the forward progress made during 2010 and become genuine contenders for top ten finishes; with the ultimate goal being to develop a car to the series' NGTC rules by 2013.

"Our debut season in the BTCC has been fantastic and the support we've had in our first year has been more than we could have hoped for," Shaun said. "We've seen what YourRacingCar has been doing through the season and it's the ideal way for fans to get more involved with our racing programme.

"The reaction we had from YRC members at Donington Park after we offered to run the member pictures on the car was brilliant and with the changes we are planning for the Golf over the winter, we hope to give all of the members -- old and new -- reason to cheer in 2011."

Fans who wish to support the team can visit the YourRacingCar.com website where they'll be able to find out more about the fan club and sign up for further news about the 2011 membership launch.

As well as celebrating the new collaboration between AmD Milltek Racing and YourRacingCar at Brands Hatch, extra reason to cheer will come from the fact that Shaun has been named as the winner of the BTCC.net Fans Trophy, voted for by fans on the official series forum.

Shaun becomes the third winner of the annual award after Mat Jackson and Paul O'Neill and will be presented with the trophy during the Brands Hatch race weekend.
