Team ES Racing Ready for UK's Fastest Race Circuit
Team ES Racing head west to the UK's fastest race circuit Thruxton for rounds 7, 8 and 9 of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship this weekend.
Last time out on track Chris James took 12th place in the final race at Donington Park. "Once again we are looking to build on a very positive weekend at Donington. To get a 12th place and improve our position in every race was amazing. The goals remain the same, and will do until we get more funding & experience, which are to keep the car straight, finish all three races & not finish last."
Despite plans announced by BTCC organisers to limit the turbo cars James heads in to the weekend on the back foot. "I am a little down hearted about Thruxton as whilst it is an amazing circuit, it is truly a power circuit. Even though the turbo's have been allegedly turned down (I think they'll just show more of their hand by turning them back up in different ways) I am 99% sure that we will be at a significant disadvantage even before we start."
The Luton-based driver isn't giving up all hopes yet though as he comments: "That said THE GREAT BRITISH UNDERDOG likes a challenge & will continue to push on!"
Chris James is currently 16th in the HiQ Independent Drivers Championship with the team placed joint 7th place with AMD Milltek Racing and Geoff Steel Racing in the HiQ Independent Teams Championship.
Full coverage of qualifying can be seen on ITV.com on Saturday 30 April. The three races will be shown live throughout Sunday along with coverage of the TOCA support package on ITV4 and ITVHD.
