Team PSP had a weekend to forget after a first-lap accident sidelined both drivers in Round 17, and the aftermath caused Leslie's early retirement in Round 18. The bright spot of the weekend was Phil Bennett's excellent fourth fastest-time in the second practice session.

David Leslie: "This was just not my weekend. I'm very upset to have been put out of contention when I felt I had a strong race car. My mechanics worked non-stop to get me out in time for the second race but I was forced to retire early on."

Phil Bennett: "What can I say? David and I had a coming-together which put him into the barrier at high speed and led to my retirement too, so we both had to start the second race from the back of the grid. I got a great start and worked up to 9th on the first lap but sadly couldn't hold on - it was all fast and furious. But my eventual 12th place was little reward for the team's hard work."

Mike Carroll (race director): "The Team PSP mechanics were fantastic to get David back out for the second race, all to no avail. It's very disappointing."

David Wong (team principal): "Racing is about pushing to the limit but today it went just too far on the track and we paid the price. Donington promised to be good for us but it wasn't to be. The consolation is that we continue to show improving on-track speed."
