Team PETRONAS Syntium Proton has made two key appointments in the run-up to its inaugural season in the British Touring Car Manufacturer’s Championship. Trevor Griffiths is Team PSP’s Chief Mechanic and Brian Johnson will become David Leslie’s race engineer.
As the Principal of TJ Motorsport, Trevor Griffiths (46) has been heavily involved in ASCAR for the last two years. Prior to that, he ran two race winning cars in the Vectra Challenge.
Widely experienced in sports car and open wheel racing, Brian Johnson (42) recently secured major successes for Carlin Motorsport in the Porsche Supercup.
David Wong, Team Principal, Team PETRONAS Syntium Proton said:“ I’m delighted we’ve secured the services of these two experienced people. Between them they have amassed a great deal of know-how in building and running successful racecars. Team PSP is delighted to have them on board.”
