Rounds 7 and 8
Silverstone Night Race
Saturday 2nd June
The Peugeot 406 Coupé Race Team head to Silverstone this weekend for Rounds 7 and 8 of www.theAA.com British Touring Car Championship in the first night race of the season.
Testing at Snetterton last Friday, proved a useful unofficial test for the 406 Coupé. Snetterton known for its flat terrain and long straights gave the team the opportunity to test reliability and set-up.
Vic Lee, Team Manager said, "We tested various geometry changes at Snetterton in an attempt to improve our slow corner exit speed. Steve Soper completed 68 laps and Dan Eaves 84 with reasonable improvement in times."
With a condensed schedule this weekend, Eaves and Soper will drive in free practice on Friday night at 10.45pm-11pm. Qualifying for BTC Touring is at 2.45-3.15 on Saturday with race action at 7.35pm in the SPRINT race and again at 10.10pm for the 30-lap FEATURE race in the dark!
Racing at night makes for spectacular racing for the spectator commented Dan Eaves, "I'm really excited about the night race as last time I did a race in the dark I was in a Class B Peugeot 306 being lapped by the Super Tourers, so it will be nice to be a bit quicker this time round."
For those who would rather wrap up at home, tune into TOCA radio 1602MW in Silverstone surrounding villages or catch the spectacular on BBC grandstand the weekend following.
