SEAT Sport warms up at Silverstone

Following the scheduled FIA World Touring Car Championship training calendar, the SEAT Sport team was present at the collective session organised at the Silverstone circuit. This historic track will play host to the third WTCC meeting on 15 May 2005.

SEAT Sport has never trained nor raced on this track before, and dedicated the last three days to gathering information on the Toledo Cupra's behaviour and setting requirements. A total of 30 people from the SEAT Sport team, including all three drivers - Rickard Rydell, Jordi Gene and Peter Terting - went to England to take advantage of these sessions, which were run in very cold conditions.

Team Manager Antonio Rodriguez said: "The team has taken time to study the characteristics of this track to find the best settings for each driver. It's our first time at Silverstone, which most of our rivals are familiar with. For this reason, Rickard Rydell's experience here, following his participation at the BTCC races, has been invaluable."

Rydell said: "I was impressed how the Toledo behaved on this track. I hope my experience here and the work we've done these days is useful when we come back here to race."

The SEAT Sport UK team drivers also took part in these training sessions. This year they will be participating at the British Touring Car Championship with Jason Plato, James Pickford and Luke Hines.
