Rounds 21and 22
Silverstone, Northants
8/9th September 2001

The Peugeot 406 Coupè Race Team were back at Northampton's Silverstone Circuit today for the qualifying session for Rounds 21 and 22 of the www.theAA.com British Touring Car Championship.

With both Peugeot 406 Coupès running with similar changes to settings after Oulton Park, the 2.252 mile circuit saw Soper still on a charge from Oulton Park, and undeterred by a faulty engine sensor take 4th in the Sprint race and 5th in the Feature race. Eaves, suffering from drive shaft problems in free practice earlier on in the day only completed 6 laps in qualifying resulting in 9th position for both of tomorrow's races.

Mick Linford, Motorsport Manager at Peugeot Motor Company Plc commented; "Despite both Steve and Dan having problems in free practice we are confident that the problems will be fully sorted for tomorrow's races. Dan's poor qualifying position shouldn't be too much of a hindrance and I think we can expect both cars to be challenging the Vauxhall's." <pre> Qualifying Results:
