Aaron fast but unlucky!

Surrey based race ace Aaron Scott was at Oulton Park on Sunday for round 2 of the BTCC Renault Clio cup.

In Saturdays dry qualifying session Scott drove his Omnico backed Clio to the 10th fastest time in the 31 car field, 8 places higher than at the first round at Brands Hatch!

In the race Aaron's fortune changed as after 150 yards he was hit by another car and forced into a spin and into the wall. Whilst contact with the wall was only slight it was enough to put him out of the race with a broken wheel bearing.

Aaron said, " I'm disappointed for my Tim Norton team that we got punted out early as I don't think a podium would have been out of the question in today's race. We improved the car all weekend and I'm sure that some changes we made for the race would have netted another big step forward. The boys did a great job with the car. "

Team manager Nigel Gathercole, " We are really pleased with the job Aaron is doing, luck wasn't with us today but our time will come soon and we will be strong at the next race. "

The next race for the team is at Thruxton on Bank Holiday Monday - May 6.
