Honda's Matt Neal bullied his way back past Vauxhall's James Thompson to take a dramatic victory in the first of today's (Sunday) two Green Flag MSA British Touring Car Championship rounds at Donington Park.

Neal led the early stages but fell behind Thompson during the mandatory tyre change pit stops. A brave move saw him pass Thompson to regain the race lead with just a lap and a half to go.

Yvan Muller fought through from the back of the grid to finish third and maintain his healthy championship lead over Vauxhall team-mate Thompson.

GA Motorsports' Carl Breeze was seventh overall to win the Hilton Independents Trophy from points leader Rob Collard.

Barwell Motorsport's Luke Hines moved ever closer the Production class title with a clear victory.
