Ford in Autotrader RAC British Touring Cars * Ford Mondeo Racing heads to Croft circuit, North Yorkshire for the mid-season rounds of the 1998 Auto Trader RAC British Touring Car Championship on Wednesday June 24. Taking the driving duties will be Will Hoy - who took another podium finish at Donington Park last week - and Craig Baird, returning to the circuit where he first tested the 1998 Ford Mondeo Super Touring car. * The race event begins on Thursday June 25, with two days official testing at the circuit, before qualifying on Saturday and two races on Sunday. * "I like Croft, it's a good little circuit, very tight and twisty. It has a nice mix of high speed bends and slow corners and the surface is constantly changing from rough to smooth, requiring your full concentration!" Will Hoy, Ford Mondeo Racing driver * "I've never raced at Croft before, but it's a circuit I know quite well, because I tested extensively there before the start of the season. I quite like it, but it's much slower, with sprints between slow corners, which may not suit us as well as fast flowing circuits like Donington and Silverstone." Craig Baird, Ford Mondeo Racing driver. * "Croft is an interesting circuit. From an engineering point of view, the car needs a very good balance to cope well with the surface and speed changes. We've made some significant improvements to the steering and balance of the car since the start of the season, so the drivers should benefit over their pre-season experiences. Having said that, we've had very little dry running time there, so we are looking to these two days testing to work out the optimum dry settings." Dick Bennetts, team principal, Ford Mondeo Racing
