Victory and series lead for Muller.

Yvan Muller took victory in this afternoon's (Monday) fourth round of the Green Flag MSA British Touring Car Championship at Brands Hatch and with it the lead of the series.

Frenchman Muller headed home a Vauxhall 1-2-3 as team-mates James Thompson and Paul O'Neill took second and third places in their Astra Coupes. Thompson's second place was clouded with controversy after he collided with MG's Colin Turkington on the penultimate lap and the Northern Irish youngster's ZS crashed into the barriers.

Turkington's team-mates Anthony Reid and Warren Hughes came through to take fourth and fifth ahead of Proton's David Leslie in sixth.

James Kaye, in his Honda Civic Type-R, got the better of Carl Breeze's Team Halfords Peugeot 307 in the late stages to take a maiden Hilton Independents Trophy win for his Synchro Honda Racing team.

Edenbridge Racing's Michael Bentwood, in his BMW 320i, built himself a sizeable points lead in the Production class with his second victory of the day ahead of the Barwell Motorsport Honda Civic Type-R of Luke Hines.
